Vesper · Privacy
Your sounds, your space.
Effective 7 September 2026 · Amy McBride
This policy covers Vesper for iPhone and iPad, Vesper for Mac, and their AUv3 instruments.
Your instrument and your sounds
Vesper does not include user accounts, advertising, analytics or tracking. Vesper does not send your patches, Noise Jars, sensor readings or playing activity to the developer.
Your settings, patches and Noise Jar shelf are stored on your device. The standalone app and its AUv3 instruments use a shared local shelf. A Noise Jar loaded into an AUv3 instrument is also included in its saved host state, so a music project can keep that sound.
You can choose to import, export or share sounds and Noise Jars. An exported Jar includes its name, creation time, repeatable seeds and any optional sensor information used to make it. Files saved or shared through a music host, file provider or other app are also handled by that service or app.
Optional camera and motion
Noise Jars can be made from secure system randomness without using a camera or motion sensors.
In the standalone app, you may choose available motion sensors for a short harvest. Brief, quantized readings from the selected sensors may be stored in the Jar. On supported iPhones and iPads, you may also turn on Room View and allow camera access. This can contribute at most one coarse surface signature.
Vesper does not store photos, video, camera frames, depth maps, room meshes, microphone recordings or location in a Noise Jar. Camera and motion readings are optional; you can use the synthesizer and make a Jar without them. The Mac app does not use Room View's camera capture, and AUv3 instruments do not request camera or motion access.
Network access
If you enable Ableton Link, Vesper uses your local network to synchronize tempo, beat and phase with compatible music apps. This is musical synchronization, not analytics or advertising.
Opening the User Guide requests its PDF from fishtailmidi.com over HTTPS and keeps a validated local copy for offline reading. Vesper does not include your patches, Noise Jars or sensor readings in that request.
Keeping and sharing your files
You can remove a Noise Jar from its local shelf. A copy already saved in a music project or exported file remains in that project or file until you remove it there. Back up sounds you want to keep before deleting the app.
Website, guide downloads and support
This website is hosted through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare. Opening a page or downloading the guide sends a normal web request, including technical connection information such as an IP address, to the hosting infrastructure. The Vesper pages do not add advertising, analytics scripts or embedded media players.
The demonstration is a link to YouTube. YouTube receives your request when you choose to follow that link and handles it under its own privacy policy.
If you email support, your address, message and any attachments are received so that your enquiry can be answered. Send only the information you want to share. Contact the support address below about a privacy question or a request concerning your correspondence.
