Find a drummer. Follow a feeling.
House, Dub, Broken, Teknonono, Pop, Drum & Bass or Gamelan Garden. Try D8 for a calmer idea, or D12 for more variety. Keep the part that makes you move.

Let the parts belong together.
Choose your key and mode, then roll a synth phrase. Make a drum kit around the music’s tuning. Auto JI and an optional pitch–tempo lock bring another way to explore the relationship between pitch and rhythm.

Turn a moment into a section.
Keep a groove, add another section and build your own shape. The same Play button follows your music from the live groove into the song.

Leave your fingerprints on it.
Move the dials. Record the movement. Balance the instruments and give them space with reverb and delay. The sends are pre-fader, so a dry part can fade away while its effects keep sounding.

The optional Deep Groove lesson takes you through one section using the real instrument. Choose a key and tempo, find a drummer, roll a melody and make a kit to match.
Try recording a dial, explore the mixer, then carry on playing. Skip any step. There is no right answer to find.
